Future Orders

Prerequisites

User Story: I want to be able to take an order today for next week. How can I do this and what will happen as a consequence of this?

Method

A future order can be placed on the POS, Online Ordering site or Mobile Ordering Apps. This can be for either Collection or Delivery.

POS

Creating a customer order will display order tab with customer name and 'Delivery/Collection for ASAP' as default. E.g See below for Delivery order.

Now pressing 'Delivery for ASAP' will bring up Delivery / Collection Time popup

The user is now able to amend the date / time for the order. Pressing the calender allows date changes to be made

Now select desired date and press update. The new date & time for the order will be recorded showing only the updated time on the order tab.

Now checking the order tab, the order will be shown as follows

Note, that the 'Due In' column block  for this order is a green coloured block, this indicates that the order is a Future order, with the status 'To Prepare'

Commencing preparation of the order can occur at any point, by simply pressing the 'Prepare' button.

Once the shift has been closed (XZ Read completed) and a new shift has been opened the future order will remain visible on the pending screen as long as the 'Future' button is pressed. Remove this filter, will not display it on the trackscreen. This will be the case until the due date has been reached, whereby the order will be on the 'Pending' screen.

When an order is taken today and it's a future order that needs to be prepared in a weeks period, as an example, it would be taken with number 1010. However, on the day when the order will be prepared, you could have a different order 1010. This can't be changed due to technical reasons and on such scenarios it's possible to have order duplications.
