Introduction


Split payments are a convenient way for customers to divide the total amount of an order among different payment methods or a number people. This guide walks you through processing split payments on the MyFoodFast POS system.


Steps to Process Split Payments


  1. Access the Payment Screen


  • Finalizing an order,
  • Click on Pay at the bottom of the order tab
  • Click on the Split icon


  • The Split Payments interface will appear, showing the total amount due.


  1. Select the number of people or payments to split the total between.


  1. Payment Methods


  • At the top of the payment screen, you'll see the available payment methods:

    Stripe: For card payments processed via Stripe.

    Card: For manual card payments.

    Cash: For cash transactions.
  • Select the payment method for the first portion of the payment.


  1. Enter the Tender Amount


  • Use the on-screen numeric keypad to enter the desired payment amount for the selected method.
  • You can quickly choose from the following options:
  • Exact: Fills in the remaining balance.
  • £1, £2, £5, £10, £20: Quick amount buttons to reduce typing.
  • The entered amount will be deducted from the total, leaving the remaining balance displayed.


  1. Confirm Each Payment


  • Once the payment amount is entered:
  • Click Confirm to process the selected payment method.
  • A record of the payment will appear on the right-hand side of the screen under "Pay 1 of X."
  • Repeat these steps for the remaining balance using the desired payment methods.
  • The system will automatically mark the order as Paid once the total amount is covered.

Example Scenario


  • Order Total: £30.51
  • Payment 1: Customer pays £15.26 using Stripe.
  • Payment 2: Customer pays £15.25 in Cash.
  • After confirming each payment, the order is marked as complete, and no outstanding balance remains.


Best Practices


  • Communicate with Customers: Confirm the payment amounts and methods with customers before processing.
  • Track Partial Payments: The right-hand summary shows all processed payments, making it easy to manage multiple transactions.


With the split payment feature on MyFoodFast POS, you can ensure a seamless payment experience for customers while maintaining accurate financial records.
