How to place a customer phone order for Delivery or Collection on the POS

Existing Customer


When a customer calls now >  Customer Order
Ask the customer either, in order of priority, their:


Phone number > Enter phone number e.g. 07930 123 456 >
Full Postcode > Enter full postcode with a space > e.g. N9 0HL >
First or Last Name > Enter either of these not both >
Note, a minimum of six digits or characters are required
This screen will always be blank until you search for the customer

Search customer records >
It will search all registered customers in the Back Office, including customers using the online ordering platforms.
This search allows searching the customer database of the Company .i.e All stores' customers within that company.
If no results are found > For a New Customer scroll below.
Select the chosen customer > Confirm the details shown with the customer to ensure the correct customer is chosen

New Customer


If the customer has not ordered before as no record is found, then and only then, select either 

New Delivery Customer >
New Collection Customer >

Ask the customer their Name and Phone number >
Note, that only First Name and Mobile are required fields here and obviously the address for Delivery
Address Lookup > Ensure a valid postcode is entered, a space is optional.
Select the address from the dropdown to populate the address fields
Add New Order >To add this customer to the order and the database for use going forward
Delivery charges will be obtained and added to the order on the order tab



Caller ID


If using Caller ID, with either VOIP or adaptor, 

When the call comes in >
Phone number that they are calling from shows as popup >
If the number is found in the database>
You will be taken to the Customer screen prepopulated with customer details including address
In case this number is not found in the database >
You will be taken to the Customer screen
Click the **+** icon next to the Mobile field to copy the number to the field
Complete the details, as a New Customer above
