Setup guide: Kitchen Categories

Here you can learn to configure Kitchen Categories so that particular items go to specific kitchen printers and KDSs.

Before you start

Ensure your menu set up in the Company

Back office

Assign Kitchen Categories

All products are attached to the Default category when the menu is first created.

If you would like to create separate categories so that their respective products (e.g Dessert, Drinks, Pizza, Pasta) go to their respective KDSs.

Company : Management > Menu > Menu Setup > Categories > Kitchen Categories > New Kitchen Category

New categories will then be listed under the Kitchen categories table

Now you can assign the Products to this new Kitchen Category

In bulk by Management > Menu >Menu Setup > Edit Category > Select Printer Category > Update Category

This action will assign all Products in this Category to this Kitchen Category

Printer Category will return to Please Select once saved, but the Kitchen Category will have been assigned, which you can double check by following the instructions below

Individually by Management > Menu > Products > Search Product > Edit > Select Kitchen Printer Category

A Product can only be assigned to one Kitchen Category, but a Kitchen Category can be assigned to multiple Kitchen Printers or KDS here Store : Setup > POS > Kitchen(C) after the Kitchen Category name denotes a Kitchen Category created in the Company Menu

Kitchen Printers

Store : Setup > POS > Kitchen > Kitchen Printer Listing

Edit > To add the Kitchen Categories to this Printer

New Kitchen Printer > To add a new physical Kitchen Printer

Kitchen Display (KDS)

Store : Setup > POS > Kitchen > Kitchen Displays

Edit > To add the Kitchen Categories to this Printer

New Kitchen Printer > To add a new physical Kitchen Printer
